Here is an updated on what God has been doing in the lives of children.
Almost two weeks ago I started teaching English as a second language to children ages 6-12. As of right now I have an average of 18 students in every class. Everyone of my students has a different story. Many of them live in bars where their mothers works as prostitutes. Some of them come from very poor families, or crave a lot of attention because they are neglected at home. I love all my students, and I love being their teacher. It is very sad when you ask a 9 year old to write their name and they don’t know how, but these children are all so hungry to learn English, and they aren’t letting anything get in their way.
In class I don’t just teach English, but I’m also teaching them about Jesus. They are leaning that they can do all things through Christ! Which includes learning a new language or learning how to properly write their name. With 18 children all yelling and asking for help at the same time, you would think it would be crazy in the class room, but the children are learning, and they are also getting away from whatever lifestyle they are facing at home, and they are going to a place where they can be in the presence of God for part of the day.
Sunday I had the opportunity to teach the children in El Shaddia church. I chose to speak to the children about the Holy Spirit and how He fills us with power! I had a class of 7 children and I’m excited to say that 3 of those children opened their mouths and started speaking in tongues! You are not too young to pray in the Holy Spirit! You are not to young to lay hands on the sick or case out demons!
God completely took over Sunday school and the kids were crying in His presence, receiving the power of the Holy Spirit.
In House of Refuge the children have been receiving from God! The children are raising their hands to give their lives to Jesus, and to receive more of His presence. The last few weeks in every service God has been touching the children, and I can see a hunger for Jesus growing in the inside of them.
My prayer is that the next generation does greater things then I will ever do for God. I’m excited to see Jesus preparing these children, by giving them opportunities to learn English and by speaking to their hearts. Every child is a blessing, and every child is anointed to follow the calling God has for them.
