For the next fifteen days or until further notice, Guatemala is on lockdown due to the coronavirus. Nobody is leaving or coming into the country. We are not allowed to have “get togethers” of any kind that involve more then five people. The government has announced that any meetings, services, or gatherings that involve more then the maximum number of people will result to six or more years in prison. But let’s not forget who is King!
Ephesians 1:21-22 says, “(Jesus is) far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church.”
If you were to ask me what you should be doing right now I would say, “I think it’s the perfect time to dance and the perfect time to jump up and down because the coronavirus is UNDER OUR FEET.”
Intercede for your nation and for the world but don’t forget to praise your King, because with Him we already have the victory. The name of Jesus is bigger then the coronavirus.
UPDATE:
One day, before everything was shut down, God opened a door to do Kidz Club in a little village called “La Morenita”. It’s a very poor place where some of the families have close to nothing. After walking around the village and inviting all the families, one hundred seventy-six people showed up to hear about Jesus. The children’s hearts were open to the Word of God. The adults in attendance were also happy to hear about Jesus. When an invitation was given, the hands went flying up for people to receive Jesus in their hearts. It was beautiful to see so many souls won for the kingdom of God. At the end of the program we prayed for the sick and thirty-eight people were completely healed from pain and sickness in their bodies. Adults and children experienced the power of the Holy Spirit.
Lots of exciting and new things have happened in Guatemala the last few weeks. New doors are being opened and there are new places to share the Gospel. Then the world stopped. Just because the world stops does not mean that God stops too. This last week I starting mentoring two young girls and teaching them English. My classes with them will continue. Also I am planning an evangelistic outreach. I, along with some of my friends, are planning to go into a community where we have been doing Kidz Club. We are going to go door-to-door to pray and show the love of Jesus to people during this time.
All people want right now is some hope, but all the churches had to close their doors. Now the people have nowhere to go during this fearful time. We are going to go to them and be the light we are supposed to be.
Keep praying like warriors, remember who is King, and don’t stop like everything else has because God hasn’t and He never will.
